Bjarne Kvinnsland

Bjarne Kvinnsland has a background as pianist, studies in musicology, music technology and electronic art. He has worked at NOTAM, a production centre for work with sound - in music, research and mediation. He is now a member of the artist group Intravision, in this group he works with art installation with light and sound. He has also specialized in composing for modern dance. His production SNOW with the choreografer Odd Johan Fritzøe will tour in Norway in 2012. He has been working with Skånes dansteater together with Dansdesign in august-september 2010. 18400 people came to se the danceperformance Dockplats 2010 in Malmø 9 - 12th of september. In october and november 2010 he worked with the Caminhos Coloridos Project at MAC in Niteroi in Brazil, se FILM. In January and november 2011 and march 2012 he will tour with the group URSOUND. May 2011 Bjarne Kvinnsland and Dansdesign went to Kunming in the Yunnan province in China to start up an new project in China. In the summer of 2011 Bjarne Kvinnsland sampled the city Drøbak, there will be a concert in march 2012. The concert Relativily Tranquil was performed at Ultima the 17th of september. Bjarne is now composing a piece for pianist Ingfrid Breie Nyhus and percussionist Eirik Raude called "the forest", it will premiere in 2012. In 2012 he will also compose music for the theatre group Kompani Camping.

A performance to show how areas in Oslo and around Oslo have positive sound factors. We will travel between nature sounds and cultural sounds to explore the music in the birds, wind, water, people and machines. Our concert is a study of acoustic ecology, but also to let musicians and the audience to explore that certain sounds are essential for a happy life!

The Evolving Landscape for HSH in Oslo comprise of a 20m2 picture and video installation together with 5 identical sculptures “flying” through the space.

LANDSKAP I ENDRING...

Vi bygger en bro fra gaten inn i et åpent landskap, der vi ennå ikke
har satt våre spor. En dynamisk overgang vi må gå, løpe, hoppe og
danse i, for å oppleve rommet som forandrer seg. Et sted som setter
tankene i energisk bevegelse, gir retning, form og intensitet. Et
nytt rom kan kun oppleves ved å gå inn...

Skulpturene med lys lager overgang fra Oslos gater. Bildet er et
norsk fjell, men bakgrunnen forandrer seg. Bakgrunnsbildene er samlet
i Kina og lydene er fra den søratlantiske regnskogen. Landskapet er i
konstant endring og utvikling...

Vi er noen skritt fra gaten, og på vei til en øy. Havet tegner en pen
sirkel om øya. Det er vakkert og bevegende, du er på vei til å finne
ditt indre stille punkt...
